HELP ANIMALS ON THE FRONT LINES: Every purchase of a raffle ticket provides essential supplies to the brave and cherished animals who serve alongside Ukrainian defenders
A message from host & executive producer, Sabrina Rani-Kiperchuk Furminger: “I was deeply moved by a recent thank-you video posted by RIY Vancouver. The video (see it here) featured a defender from Adam Tactical Group as well as the defender’s dog, Blackie (which also happened to be the name of my Собака дідуся).
Watching this defender and his dog in this video reminded me that, for many units, animals are valued members of the team. These animals give so much to our heroes, from psychological support to comfort to recreation to pest control. And so I reached out to RIY Vancouver and asked if we could raise money to help these animals, too.
RIY Vancouver said yes, and so: I’m hosting a raffle! For every donation of $20 CAD, you’ll receive an entry into this raffle. The more you donate, the higher your chances of winning.
-Grand prize: a unit flag from Adam Tactical Group, signed by defenders
-Second prize: a motanka doll in the colours of the Ukrainian flag, handmade in Ukraine
-Third prize (2): T-shirt with Ukrainian design + varenykyy ornament, both from the studio of celebrated Ukrainian Canadian artist, Janelle Knihnitski
-one brand-new puzzle featuring Zaporozhian Kozaks
-"A Ukrainian Christmas" book + petrykivka Trzyub ornament
100% of your donations will be used to purchase essential supplies for these animals on the frontlines.
As a special gift, I’ll send everyone who donates a minimum $20 a Ukrainian Roots Podcast fan pack featuring Ukrainian Roots stickers, pen, and a Tryzub flag pendant.
You can also enter the raffle (and thus donate) via e-transfer or PayPal:
E-transfer (CAD): sabrina@yvrscreenscene.com
PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/sabrinarmf
Winners will be announced on Friday, October 30, at 5:00 PM Vancouver time.
If you want to help these animals but don’t want to participate in the raffle, please donate any amount that works for you. Even a few dollars will sustain and save the lives of these animals who mean so much to our defenders.
Thank you for standing with Ukraine. Thank you for caring about our defenders and their animals.”
